The Tau/G.703 is an adapter board for IBM PC and compatible computers with ISA bus. It incorporates two G.703 short range modems and one digital interface for a standby link. The short range modems operate at distances of up to 2.5 km
The Cronyx-Tau software allows to join several physical synchronous communication channels into one logical channel. For example, two G.703 channels with data rate 2048 kbps, joined together, will create the logical channel with the overall throughput of 4096 kbps.
The Tau/G703 is discontinued and overrided by TAU-PCI/2E1/4E1.
